Eligible Baptist Homes Society employees enjoy access to a wide variety of benefits, including, among others:
Medical
We offer a choice of two different UPMC plans -- Exclusive Provider Option (EPO) and Preferred Provider Option (PPO). Eligible staff can elect medical coverage for themselves at no cost to the employee and can elect coverage for dependents at an additional cost to staff.
If eligible full-time staff elect not to take medical coverage, each will receive $1/hr worked up to a maximum of $80/pay – this can potentially add an additional $2,080 in annual pay!
Dental
Eligible staff can elect MetLife Dental plan at competitive rates.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Staff may contribute up to $3,600/year on a pre-tax basis to a medical flexible spending account and up to $5,000/year on a pre-tax basis to a dependent day care flexible spending account.
Life Insurance, AD&D, & Long Term Disability
Eligible staff will receive $50,000 in company-paid life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment insurance and long term disability insurance.
Long Term Care Insurance
Eligible staff will receive company-paid long term care insurance which will pay $1,000/month for up to 3 years if there is a need to enter into a long term care facility or nursing home. The plan also provides for $500/month for up to 3 years of professional home care. Staff can buy additional coverage.
Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is available free of charge for employees and their spouses. It is accessible 24 hours a day and contains a variety of fitness equipment including treadmills, elliptical, and weight machines.
Retirement 403(b)
Many staff are eligible to participate in our retirement program from day one of employment. After one year of employment, Baptist Homes will begin to match 100% of contributions on up to 3% of pay. Staff are immediately vested in this match. Additionally, after one year of service, staff receive a 5% discretionary match in which Baptist Homes will deposit a lump sum of money equal to 5% of annual pay into eligible staff’s 403(b). There is a 5-year graded vesting schedule to reach 100% vesting in the discretionary match.
Vision Discount Program
Baptist Homes offers two different vision discount plans that staff and dependents can take advantage of – at no cost to staff. MetLife Vision Savings Eyecare Program provides discounts at many leading eye care providers including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision & Sears Optical. Staff can also receive a discount on eye exams. The card also provides a 15% discount on LASIK. The Aetna Vision Discount Program can save 40% off retail price on eyeglass frames and 5% off of disposable contact lenses through specified retail stores.
Employee Assistance Program
Baptist Homes contracts with Back on Track EAP for all employees at no cost to staff. The EAP offers anonymous counseling sessions through Back on Track’s toll-free number and options for free face-to-face screening or assessment session with a master’s level therapist.
Sick Bank
The Employee Sick Bank is a voluntary short term disability program to provide financial assistance to employees who are unable to work for an extended period of time, as a result of their own personal illness.
Paid Time Off
Baptist Homes provides employees with Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual where full-time staff members can accrue up to 20 days of PTO in the first year and up to 22 days after the second year. Part-time staff accrue on a prorated basis. PTO time is to be used for vacation, holidays, personal days, illness or emergencies.
Credit Union
All employees of Baptist Homes have the opportunity to join the Omega Federal Credit Union which provides many great services such as checking and savings accounts, home loans, car loans, etc.
