Skilled Nursing
Q: What is a continuum of care?
A: A continuum of care refers to the various levels of care an individual might need as he or she progresses through later life. These levels range from independent living where a person is in need of very minimal or no assistance, through some assistance, to skilled nursing care, where a person requires intense medical care or rehabilitation.
Baptist Homes Society provides a continuum on both of its campuses, because it offers all three levels of care.
Residents who pay fee-for-services may access the continuum based on medical need and bed availability. Residents with a CCRC contract are guaranteed access to all levels of the continuum.
