Personal Care
Q: What happens when a personal care resident's funds are spent down?
A: Each individual’s case is reviewed according to our policy on benevolence set by our Board of Directors. We are a not for profit, charitable organization, with a commitment to benevolent care for residents in need. Benevolence levels are determined annually by our Board of Directors. Our benevolence provides financial support for individuals in our personal care residence, where no state or federal subsidies are available. Our benevolence also funds the uncompensated care provided in our nursing center. Uncompensated care is the difference between our costs to provide care, and the payments we receive for providing that care.
Our charitable care is funded through donations to our Covenant Fund from individuals, churches, organizations, the proceeds of our annual charity Golf Outing, and the investment income generated by bequests and other endowment gifts.
