Environmental Service Worker

Job Summary:

This position will rotate on an as-needed basis

  • Responsible for maintaining all the floors and walking surfaces
    throughout the facility.  These floors
    are to be maintained so that they are clean, safe and sanitary throughout the

  • Carries out the established procedures to fulfill the laundry need of
    the facility, including all the flat linens, resident personal laundry, dietary
    linens, and any other items from the facility.

  • Responsibility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the
    designated assigned areas in which he/she is assigned.


Job Requirements:

Less than high school education: GED preferred; or up to one month
related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and

  • Ability to read and comprehend service manuals and written
    communications given to the employee.  Ability
    to write simple correspondence to complete work orders and other types of
    written communications required such as maintaining of records.  Ability to effectively present information
    and communicate with a resident or staff member.  Must have listening skills to be able to
    interpret concerns and follow directions. 

  • Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide
    with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform
    these operations using units of measurement and volume.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but
    uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
    Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in
    standardized situations.

  • Current Class I PA Drivers License.
